U.S reaches compliance with Russian Nuke Treaty

State Department report shows the United States is in compliance with the New START treaty with Russia that limits nuclear warheads and delivery systems, says Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin
According to the fact sheet on the New START treaty, which replaced the original START treaty in 2011, the United States had 660 deployed ICBMs, SLBMs and deployed heavy bombers. The Russian Federation had 501, the Federation of American Scientists stated.
The U.S. had 1,393 warheads on those ICBMS, while the Russian Federation had 1,561. And the U.S. had 800 deployed or non-deployed launchers of ICBMS, while the Russian Federation had 790.
The fact sheet said the U.S. now is within limits set by the 2011 treaty.
"The 660 deployed launchers are also below the treaty limit of 700 and the 1,393 deployed warheads is well below the limit of 1,550. As such, the United States is now technically in compliance with the treaty."
The Russian Federation is over the warhead limit, with 1,561, the report revealed.
"The latest U.S. reductions are the result of denuclearization of bombers and reduction of launch tubes on the Ohio-class submarines," FAS reported.
"The data shows that Russia has reduced its deployed strategic warheads by 235 in the past 12 months and is now only 11 warheads above the New START treaty limit of 1,550 warheads to be achieved by February 2018. Russia is already below the treaty limit on deployed launchers as well as deployed and non-deployed launchers," it continued.
From 2013 to 2016, the U.S. had major concerns that the Kremlin was building up its nuclear arsenal, but it's clear now that Moscow was modernizing, not increasing, its arsenal.
Focusing on deployed warheads, the treaty covers only a portion of the two countries' total warhead inventories. Russia has a military stockpile of 4,300 warheads, with more retired warheads in reserve, for a total inventory of 7,000. FAS estimates the United States has a military stockpile of 4,000 warheads for a total inventory of 6,800.
