EU withdrawal bill- A modern day Enabling Act

"Lets Take back control" The slogan of Vote leave during the Brexit campaign.
The selling point of Brexit. That we should not let members of an un-elected administration make decisions on our laws. A slogan that this government has now usefully forgotten as it throws 800 years of parliamentary democracy down the toilet to dictate to us on Brexit.
The EU withdrawal bill gets its reading on Friday, and whilst Theresa May stated it's time for MPs to play their part, they are actually being asked to vote on a modern day enabling act.
The withdrawal bill is designed to translate all EU law into UK law. The process is complicated as we are leaving various groups that enforce such laws. The bill in itself should not be complicated nor controversial but the government has decided to pursue the replacement of EU laws by 'Henry VIII clauses'. We shall fulfill Brexit with a law making procedure designed for a tyrant.
These powers allow government minsters to scrap and make laws without parliamentary procedure.
Therefore we have handed power from EU bureaucrats to Tory bureaucratic ministers. Vive la revolution indeed. The use of these powers is against our parliamentary democracy. Allowing Tory ministers to make laws without the consent of parliament allows them to do as they please on Brexit. The elected representatives we have sent to Westminster once the bill has passed will have zero real say on the replacing of EU laws. Tories and Labour members alike should be up in arms.
Yet for some the end seems to justify the means. The bill looks like it will pass.
There is a slim yet real chance it may be voted down. Labour have pledged to vote against the bill if their amendments don't pass, which they won't. The SNP, Liberal Democrats, Greens and Plaid Cymru will not support any bill that attempts to enact Brexit. So yet again we see May having to keep the DUP on side whilst organizing unruly backbenchers, many like Soubry and Clarke seem committed remainers.
However the Labour Brexiteers might outnumber the Tory rebels. We face the likely outcome of a Tory dictatorship on Brexit.
The significance of this bill cannot be understated though. It is the largest piece of legislation to ever pass through parliament. EU law currently covers a number of significance issues. Workers rights and environmental regulations being the most likely to change out of those. The conservative governments record on both of these issues is worse than decent, and with recent concerns over zero hour contracts the political rights of Labour against capital may yet take another hit.
David Davis has already revealed EU charter of fundamental rights will be thrown out. This is includes certain rights to privacy and equality.
To leave environmental, human, and workers rights in the hands of this Tory government would be madness.
We must take back control, and restore Parliamentary democracy.
The People's News urges you to contact your MP to speak to him/her about this bill, and the need to continue with parliamentary democracy.
