Congress

20%.

Imagine getting that grade in an exam. No curve will save you from failure. In the United States of America, this number is not associated with ‘good’ in any context, be it academia, data entry, polling, etc.

And, according to Gallup, that’s Congress’s approval rating as of data gathering compiled between the dates of April 5–9, 2017. Let’s not forget our wonderful Executive Branch, where our man Donald Trump is coming in at a whopping 41% approval rating as of this writing.

Don, you’re the definition of incompetence, your White House staff (and family) are no better, and your waning likability (hasn’t it always been low, anyway?) proves it each and every week. Yet despite all the dislike Americans express toward their leaders, those same individuals in Congress and at the White House don’t seem to give a shit about any of this because they continue to govern over us while their corporate checks break all banking levies, further flooding the elite in more wealth while the poor continue to die due to lack of essential needs in their community.

Take, for instance, the Obamacare repeal bill, which passed the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon. Well, you’d think with a 217–213 margin you’d be surprised, right? It was a slim margin, but it got past the House.

Yay, right?

Yea — no.

Republicans control everything! What do political parties do when they’re in the majority? They’re going to make something happen to get what they want before they lose their majority (if they do in a short amount of time, that is). Democrats do this, too. All dominating parties and groups do this to advance their agenda. This is no surprise. In the case of health care in the Unites States, we’ve had a deeply corrupt system in place for decades, but now we’re seeing a Washington that is willing to strip many of its own people from basic needs in order to live another day.

Welcome to America, where your life has a price tag and — for about 45,000 people a year — a premature expiration date.

But, do they care? NO, THEY DON’T. They’re planning to strip us all of health care, further bankrupting the backbone of the nation, the middle class. Our elected officials don’t care enough to keep our healthcare funded and active. And don’t even think about getting your hopes up on a single-payer under any Democrat or Republican in the establishment system currently in place. The obviousness of our current system and its oligarchic style of governing has left the middle class, or what’s left of it, hoping to avert a revolution where blood may be drawn.

The corruption is ongoing, intact, and sees no future end as it continues to stay entrenched in the bubble of Washington, D.C. and the business-as-usual attitude exercised by our congressmen and congresswomen, our so-called “representatives.” But, they represent another class of constituents the vast majority of Americans have no connection with. D.C. politicians are nothing more than political prostitutes and empty suits. Politicians will do and say whatever it takes to get the next check from not the American people, but their REAL constituents.

Who are these “REAL” constituents? Big Business.

Congress continues to do the bidding of Big Business while America can only watch their social safety nets being cut from all angles. We’ve endured an eternity of political oppression, government working about as good as an erectile (or shall I say, elective) dysfunction plaguing the electorate system, a failure to maintain social consciousness and togetherness, a failure and mistrust from the people of many communities sweeping the country on community policing coupled in with judicial unfairness — constitutional rape as we know it is alive and well, leaving us all broke, alone, bankrupt — reluctant to face premature death.

Hey, Washington, quick question: What about the 60% who want single-payer healthcare? The 69% who support an expansion of Social Security? The 59% who support legalized recreational marijuana at the federal level? What are you going to do about your 20% approval rating?

Go ahead and keep shitting on yourselves. Your stank will only multiply the distance between us and people of your kind.

We will elect TRUE PROGRESSIVES to our Congress.

We will not stop until the media’s propaganda machine is eradicated.

We will win
